Privacy Policy — Tracéo

Tracéo is a workout-tracking app (running, cycling…) that records your outings with GPS, lets you plan routes ahead of time and share them. We take your privacy seriously: Tracéo is “local-first”. Your personal data stays on your device; only usage statistics unlinked to your identity and the feedback you choose to send go through our server (details below).

Your data stays with you

All your data (workouts, routes and GPS tracks) is stored on your device and, if you enable it, synced via your private iCloud account. This data:

• is never sent to our servers;
• is never sold, shared, or used for advertising.

Location

Location is used only to record the track of a workout you start (including in the background if you enable it). Positions are stored locally and never shared with any third party.

Purchases

Subscriptions and purchases are handled by Apple (App Store). We have no access to your payment information.

Usage statistics

To understand how the app is used, catch bugs and see where people get stuck, Tracéo sends plain counters to our server (api.mesrdv.fr, hosted in the European Union): number of outings and breakdown by sport, number of saved routes, subscription status.

What we never send: no GPS track, no outing name, no photo, no date.

These counters carry a random install identifier, drawn when you first open the app. It does one thing: tell two installs apart over time, so we can see whether people come back. That identifier:

• contains nothing derived from you, your device or your Apple account;
• cannot identify you, and cannot be used to contact you;
• is specific to Tracéo — our other apps use a different one, and nothing connects them;
• is gone when you delete the app (reinstalling draws a new one).

We are therefore never in a position to know which person uses Tracéo — only how many people do, and how.

This data is never sold, shared, or used for advertising. No third-party analytics, no ad network, no tracker. It is kept for 90 days in detail and 13 months as daily totals, then deleted automatically. You can switch it off at any time in Settings → Community → “Help improve the app”.

Ideas & feedback

If you submit an idea or vote via the “Suggest an idea / vote” screen, the text you write and your vote are sent to our server so we can read and prioritise them. This is voluntary — please don't include personal information. Contributions are tied to the same install identifier, which cannot identify you.

Your rights (GDPR)

• Opt out of statistics: disable them in Settings → Community.
• Delete your data: delete the app (local data is erased) and, if applicable, remove the app from iCloud in Settings → iCloud.
• Deletion / access: write to us. Since this data is tied to no identity, we cannot look it up from your name; deleting the app stops the sending, and the counters expire on their own within 90 days. Any question: contact@babapp.fr.
